Umrah

The Umrah is a 'lesser Hajj'. Its benefits are that it is an act of obedience to Allah; and expression of one's slavehood to Allah through spending one's wealth and time, exerting oneself physically; and manifesting one's thankfulness and commitment to Allah Most High through these sacred rituals.

Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Apostle saying regarding Ramadan, "Whoever prayed at night in it (the month of Ramadan) out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven." Sahih Al-Bukhari.
